As of September 22, 2022, project was awarded to McElhenney Construction, awarded amount is $1,056,252.14. The Work will consist of: Remove & replace +-575 LF concrete ditch, install 40 LF of 6'x8' box culvert & 195 LF of 102"x63" arched pipe. one hundred eighty (180) calendar days will be allowed for the completion of the Project. All Bids must be on blank forms provided in the Specifications and submitted in its entirety. A cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a Bidder's bond, payable to City of Daphne, Alabama, for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, but in no event more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), shall be filed with the Bid. The Bidder's bond shall be prepared on the form specified and signed by a bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. A performance bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing of the Agreement. A labor and materials bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the Contract Price insuring payment for all labor and materials shall also be required at the signing of the Agreement. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the City at the time of the signing of the Agreement a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of the Contract Price. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the Work within the Contract Times will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Bids are invited from all qualified respondents. Contract is to be awarded, the City will award the Contract to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of the City Council of City of Daphne, Alabama. The City may disqualify Bidders that have had prior demands placed on a bid bond, payment bond, or performance bond within the last five (5) years prior to the date of this Bid submission.
