Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Sevierville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Bids will be for the construction of the Sevier County Record Management Building, 125 Court Avenue, Sevierville, Tennessee. The contract will be awarded as soon as practicable and bids cannot be withdrawn or modified for 60 days. No bid will be received or accepted after the above-specified time. Such bids will be deemed invalid and returned unopened to the bidder. All bidders shall purchase one full set of construction documents and specifications and be a licensed contractor, as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act of 1976 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6). The document must be purchased from Knoxville Blue Print at 622 Leroy Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee in order to be an official bidder. After purchasing bid document, contact Cathy Wilhelm or Mike Smelcer at the office of SRA Architects, Inc. phone number (865) 428-3057, giving the Contractor's contact information for the event of addenda. These steps must be taken in order to be an official bidder. A plan deposit will not be required. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, including all additive alternates. The successful bidder will be required to execute a performance bond and a labor/material payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Sum. All bidders must be licensed contractors as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act, enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee. Bid envelope shall contain the Bid Form, Bid Security, and have typed on the front: Name of Project , Bidders Name and Address , License Number, Date of Expiration of License, License Limitation, License Classification The above information shall include the General Contractor, Electrical, Plumbing, and H.V.A.C., Sub-Contractors; per Contractor's License Law 62-6-119 Bid Document. No Bidder will be permitted to withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days following the date of bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding. PERMITS AND FEES Sevier County will require a permit but there will be no charge. If any other permits are required, the Contractor must obtain. TAXES The Contractor shall pay all local and State sales, consumer, use and other similar taxes required by law. INSURANCE Insurance requirements are specified in the General and Supplementary Conditions BUSINESS LICENSE By submitting a bid, the Contractor certifies that he holds a business license to permit him to perform construction work in Sevierville and Sevier County, or that he will pay for and obtain such license prior to commencing work, if he is awarded the contract. TIME OF COMPLETION It is the intent of the Owner that the work to be performed shall commence upon Notice to Proceed complete within the specified date provided by the bidder on his Bid Proposal Form, or as modified by Contract. It may be understood that the stated completion date may be used as one criterion for determining which proposal is the most acceptable to the Owner. By submitting a bid, the Contractor agrees to the assessment of liquidated damage in the amount of $500.00 per day for each day past the Contract completion date that he has not substantially completed the project, unless he has requested and been granted an extension of time in accordance with the MA General Conditions. Substantial completion shall be as determined solely by the Architect, and shall also be evidenced by the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy by the Local Authority.
