The Township of Wayne seeks experienced Historic Restoration General Contractors who specialize in the restoration of rough and finish carpentry, installation of wood shingle roofing and surface preparation and painting of historic wood finishes to submit prequalification statements for the: ROOF RESTORATION OF THE VAN DUYNE HOUSE 533 Berdan Ave Wayne, New Jersey 07470 The project generally consists of the following: 1. Installation of wood shingle roofing; 2. Installation of copper flashings; 3. Repair of existing exterior finish carpentry repairs; and 4. Surface preparation and painting of wooden elements. All respondents will be notified in writing of the decision as to qualifications. Only those determined to be pre-qualified Historic Restoration General Contractors for this project will be invited to submit bids for the work. This property is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of the Historic Places. All prospective bidders must demonstrate experience in the successful completion of projects of a similar scope and nature that followed the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (Revised 1995) performed to the satisfaction of the Owner. A. Each successful bidder shall be required to comply with all provisions of the New Jersey prevailing local wages as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. B. Per N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.51 no contractor shall bid on any contract for public work as defined in section 2 of P.L.1963, c. 150 (C.34:11-56.26) unless the contractor is registered pursuant to this act. C. Per N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 successful bidder must have a registered Business Registration Certificate (BRC) with the State of New Jersey prior to contract award. D. Per N.J.S.A. 52:25 24.2 (P.L. 1977, c.33, as amended by P.L. 2016, c.43) bidders must provide their Ownership Disclosure Certification with the name(s) and address(es) of any owner, stockholder, or partner holding an interest of 10% or more of said business with bid proposal, failure to provide the same is a non-waivable defect. E. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of New Jersey Law Against Discrimination N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 (P.L. 1975, c. 127).
