Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, project letting is not expected to start prior to December of 2023 and construction is not expected to start prior to May of 2024. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Saginaw County Road Commission (SCRC) is requesting proposals for Engineering Services for the design of small structures within Saginaw County. For scheduling purposes and a design timeline, the projects should be ready for construction in December of 2023. It is intended that these structures will be constructed by Road Commission personnel. Construction will not be bid out. Fordney Road over Pickerel Creek Schultz Road over Whitmore Reinbold Road over Cool Creek Bishop Road over Alberts Drain These are low volume local roads in rural areas of Saginaw County. Location Maps are included Our vision of the project is a to remove the existing bridge decks, cut down the existing abutments that will be left in place, construct Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS) abutments. Install Rip-Rap channel bottoms or Sheet Pile left in place for scour protection, install steel beams salvaged from another large bridge project, place corrugated steel decking, guard rail and an HMA surface. Bridges should be designed to meet the load needs without posting weight limits. We will have 30 salvaged beams that are currently around 40' in length. The intent is to cut the bad ends off, cut them to length, and repurpose them at these locations. Award of the contract will be on or near June 28, 2022 All questions regarding this RFP shall be submitted in writing to Dan Armentrout via email.
