Jefferson County is situated in central Alabama. It is the principal and most populous county in the state. The county seat is located in Birmingham. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 658,466. The County covers 1,123.80 square miles. Jefferson County is one of eight counties in Alabama with a limited-form of home rule government. Jefferson County Commission, on behalf of the Environmental Services Department, is accepting bids for the purchase of "LIQUID CHLORINE" for Jefferson County Water Waste Treatment Plants. All recipients of this solicitation are required to complete and return the enclosed Notification of Intent. Only those vendors submitting the Notification of Intent will be advised of any clarifications, addendum, answers to inquiries, etc. pertaining to this ITB. Notification of Intent should be emailed to mcdowellj@jccal.org by 4:00 PM on 5/10/2022 . Telephone inquiries with questions regarding clarification on any and all specifications of the ITB will not be accepted.All questions must be typewritten and emailed to mcdowellj@jccal.org. The County is not responsible for delays occasioned by the U.S. Postal Service, the internal mail delivery system of the County, or any other means of delivery employed by the bidder. Similarly, the County is not responsible for, and will not open, any bid responses which are received later than the date and time indicated above. Late bid responses will be retained in the bid file, unopened. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or any part of any bid, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid.
