Detailed work description: Repair, construct, upgrade, remove, and/or rehabilitate highway and municipal guardrail and fencing systems and perform related work incidental thereto as ordered by the Engineer on an oncall, as-needed, or emergency basis. The majority of the expected work consists of repairing guardrails, posts, and terminals damaged by vehicle impacts. Contract Type: This contract is a unit-priced job order contract. Each job order will vary in location and quantity of work. The City of Danville (the City) reasonably expects to issue multiple orders with a combined total value between $25,000 and $125,000 per contract term; however, the actual usage may vary. Initial Contract Term: One (1) year from the date of issuance of a purchase order Contract Renewal: Up to two (2) additional one-year contract terms Guaranteed Minimum Quantity of Work: $25,000 per term Bonds Required: Bid Bond: One thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($1,250) Performance: Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) Payment: Twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500) It is the policy of the U.S. DOT, VDOT, and the City of Danville that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), as defined in 49 C.F.R. pt. 26, have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with the Federal funds under this Contract. Consequently, the DBE requirements of 49 C.F.R. pt. 26 apply to this Contract. The Contractor must obtain licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended. Contractor shall also be prequalified with the Virginia Department of Transportation. The successful low bidder is required to obtain a City of Danville Business License Prevailing wages in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act are REQUIRED on this Contract and the wage rates to be used are included in the contract special provisions. An agreement will be presented to the Contractor for signature within 60 days after opening of bids if contract is to be awarded. The procedure for withdrawal of bids due to error shall be according to Virginia Public Procurement Act 2.2- 4330.
