The Project consists of a 1,568 square foot remodeling of the existing Family Consumer Science Classroom located on the second floor of the Middle School including: two (2)new food preparation work stations with new casework; replacing the kitchen countertop and casework; replacing two sinks, and adding two new sinks; removing 1,100 SF of carpet tile and approximately 468 SF of 12" x 12" vinyl floor tile; providing new 12" x 12" vinyl floor tile throughout the 1,568 SF; installation of range hoods for eight (8) electric ranges (including six (6) new and relocating two (2) existing hoods; and related mechanical, electrical, plumbing alterations. Bidder may seek clarifications of the drawings and specifications and from the Architect and propose substitutions until 12:00 noon, 06/03/2022 at which time no further information will be provided other than what is shown in the Drawings and Project Manual. The purpose of the deadline is to ensure issuance of an addendum, if needed, on 06/06/2022. It is the intention of the request that addenda after this date may not be necessary. Subcontractors shall submit their bids to the prime Contractor who will responsible for the entire Project. Bids from subcontractors and suppliers delivered directly to the Owner will not be considered. Bids submitted to the Owner must be accompanied by cash, certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid and made payable to FortDodge Community School District. Such cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within three (3) days after the opening of bids and the remaining cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted Bidder have executed the Contract, or if no award has been made within thirty (30) days after date of the The Prime Contractor submitting the Bid shall provide and coordinate all Work required for this project. Bids will not be accepted at any other location. Bids shall be clearly marked. No oral, telephonic, or facsimile (fax) bids will be accepted. Full responsibility for the delivery of bids prior to the deadline for receiving bids rests with the preparer. The accepted Bidder shall be required to provide a surety bond for the full value of the Contract as security for faithful performance of this Contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor on this project under this Contract furnishing materials in connection with this Contract as specified in the General Conditions. Conditional bids will not be accepted. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Owner may require, to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in bids received, and to accept or reject any item of any bid unless such bid is qualified by specific limitation. Bids may not be withdrawn for thirty (30) consecutive calendar days of opening.
