The Town of Stratford ("Town") on behalf of its Shellfish Commission ("Commission") is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide labor, materials, equipment, and all else necessary, to relocate existing oyster shell within the Housatonic River. The awarded company ("Contractor") may be required to furnish and install additional wet shell ("Material") in the Housatonic River, per an as-needed basis. The Contractor shall provide a suction dredge boat in order to relocate approximately fifty thousand bushels of shell from the mouth of the Housatonic River (Zone 1) to Zone 2 and Zone 3. If all fifty thousand bushels cannot be moved with the use of the suction boat, additional bushels of supplied material must be wet shell brought into the Housatonic River and planted in Zone 2 and Zone 3 where identified in the appended maps. Contractor must have prior experience furnishing and deploying oyster shell material. Written requests for information will not be accepted after 12:00PM on Wednesday, 18th May, 2022.
