Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Burlington, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The work includes furnishing of all materials and equipment and performance of the following work, per the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents (PS & CD). The Base Bid work for the above contract includes full reconstruction of E Jefferson Street, from N Pine Street to the CN Railroad (near the intersection of E Jefferson Street/Bridge Street). This work includes full replacement of existing asphalt, curb and gutter, driveway aprons, sidewalk where needed, storm sewer work, full replacement of existing sanitary sewer, and replacement of existing watermain. Major work items and approximate quantities for which bids are requested include: 1,000 tons HMA Pavement, 750 CY of excavation common, 125 SY of concrete driveway apron, 1,400 LF of concrete curb and gutter, 550 LF of PVC sanitary sewer main, 1,250 LF of PVC watermain, and 650 SY of landscape restoration. In addition to the Jefferson Street work, additional watermain replacement across the Fox River will be included, using trenchless technology from the west side of the Jefferson Street Bridge to Spring Street. This accounts for approximately 200 LF of the PVC watermain replacement. These improvements include clearing, new concrete curb and gutter, new concrete driveway aprons, sanitary sewer relay, sanitary manholes, storm sewer relay, storm sewer manholes/ catch basins, watermain and water services relay, replacement of existing hydrants, sawing asphalt and concrete, excavation common, manhole adjustments, curb ramps, landscape restoration, streetscaping, pavement marking, street lighting, traffic control, and erosion control. Included in the bid is a mandatory additional bid for the replacement of the NE corner ramp at the intersection of N. Perkins Blvd. and E. Jefferson St. Work includes the replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter, asphalt patching, storm sewer adjustments, and restoration. BIDDERS PREQUALIFICATION: A Bidders qualification statement form will be issued with the Bid Documents. The Bidders Qualification Statement form must be completed and submitted in a sealed envelope at the time of Bid submittal. No bids will be accepted from any Bidder who has not submitted a Bidders Qualification Statement form. Contractors who have submitted prequalification statements to the City of Burlington shall state this on their Bidders Qualification Statement form. These prequalification forms will be reviewed; however, updated proof of qualification may be requested by the Owner prior to acceptance of any bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject the bid of any Bidder who has been determined to be unqualified. As a part of their Bids, Bidders shall submit a full and complete list of: 1) all of their proposed Subcontractors, and 2) the class of work which each will perform. The selected Contractor shall not alter this list without the written consent of the Owner. The PS & CD require that the selected Contractor and Subcontractor(s) furnish a Certificate of Insurance. Bidders shall submit Bids on blanks prepared for that purpose and shall state prices in writing and in figures. Use the form contained in the PS & CD. Bidders should pay attention to the requirements for Bid signatures, as set forth in Bid Security. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids within the 60-day period after the date of the Bid Opening. The Owner will only consider Bids from Bidders who accompany them with bank money order, a Bid Bond, or a qualified certified check, payable to the City of Burlington, in the amount equal to 5 percent of the Bid. This requirement serves to guarantee that, if the Owner accepts the Bid, the selected Contractor will execute and deliver the proper Contract Agreement and Bonds within 15 calendar days after the Notice of Award by the Owner. Failure to return these documents within this prescribed time will result in forfeiture, to the Owner, of the selected Contractors cash, Bid Bond, or cashiers check, as liquidated damages. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive or not waive any informality in the bids received and to accept any proposal, which they deem most favorable to the interests of the Owner, the City of Burlington.
