Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Board of the City of Stuart Municipal Utilities on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications, and form of contract) and estimated cost for the project at its meeting at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, in said City of Stuart City Hall for the 2022 Water Main Improvements - Stuart, IA project. Said Board will also receive and consider any comments/objections to said plans, specifications and form of contract or to the estimated cost of said improvements made by any interested party. Notice is hereby given that at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the City of Stuart City Hall, Stuart, Iowa, the Municipal Board of the Stuart Municipal Utilities, Stuart, IA will consider the construction bids received and will either award a contract, reject all bids, or adjourn thereon to a subsequent meeting of the Board. The USDA-RD (Agency) has to concur in the award before the Owner can issue the Notice of Award for the project. Work on the Project shall commence on the date specified in the written Notice to Proceed. The Project has an expected duration of 655 calendar days to substantially complete and completed and ready for final payment on or before 697 calendar days. Late start date is August 1, 2022. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security as required by Iowa Code section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, acceptable to the Owner, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bid security shall be made payable to Owner in an amount of five (5) percent of Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates) and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or a Bid bond (on the form included in the Bidding Documents) issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraphs 6.01 of the General Conditions.
All access to the Site other than during a regularly scheduled Site visit must be coordinated through the following Owner or Engineer contact for visiting the Site: Stuart Municipal Utilities, or Snyder & Associates, Jeff Godwin, PE, Bidder must conduct the required Site visit during normal working hours.
