The City of South Burlington is seeking a contractor to replace gates in the headworks building at the Airport Parkway (WWTF). A bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 5% of Bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of a certified check or Bid bond issued by surety meeting the requirements of the General Conditions. General Description of Work: The work consists of replacing the existing stop gates in the headworks influent channel at the South Burlington Airport Parkway Wastewater Treatment Facility. The work includes the following: a. Gate Replacement Temporary sewage bypass pumping; selective demolition of existing concrete influent channel for removal of existing stop gates; field verification of influent channel dimensions and overhead clearances as required to furnish and install new slide gates; furnish and install new replacement slide gates; ancillary work includes grouting new surfacemounted gate frames in influent channel at new gate locations, concrete repair of channel where existing stop gates are removed, modification of existing grates and channel covers to accommodate installation of new slide gates, removal and modification of existing handrailing to accommodate installation, and selective demolition and potential relocation of electrical conduit, existing piping, etc. that conflict with installation of new gates. b. Miscellaneous: All temporary protection, safety, site and building restoration, permits, and other support work as required to complete the gate replacement work as shown on the drawings and as specified herein.
