Project is located north of the City of Watsonville in the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz County between Airport Road and Mesa Verde Drive. The Project involves roadway improvements, construction of an 8-foot to 10-foot wide multi-use trail and transit stop enhancements spanning two miles along a well-traveled and high speed road with sporadic existing facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists. The engineer's estimate for this project is $5,317,180. There are 160 working days in this contract. Cashier's check or certified check, payable to the order of the County of Santa Cruz, of not less ten percent (10%) of the bid submitted, payable to the County of Santa Cruz and signed by the bidder as well as a corporate surety, shall accompany the bid. Bidder's bonds shall be issued by a corporate surety duly admitted and authorized to issue bonds and undertakings by the State of California. Performance bond to guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract. This bond must be equal to at least 100 percent of the total bid. The bond must contain a provision that the surety thereon waives the provisions of Sections 2819 and 2845 of the Civil Code of the State of California. The County of Santa Cruz and its Board of Supervisors reserve the right to waive minor irregularities and/ or reject any or all bids received as the public good may require. The work to be performed under the Contract Documents requires that the Contractor possess a Class "A" license and Class "C10" license at the time that this contract is awarded.
