Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Springfield, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a 700-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

**As of August 31,2022, project was awarded to R.L. Vollintine, Springfield Park District has accepted the base bid and alternate one. Base bid $649,000.00 and alternate one $226,000.00 total awarded amount is $875,000.00.** New building and habitat yards for Langurs and Lemurs. Approx. 700 sf building: slab-on-grade, cmu bearing walls, cementitious siding, wood roof trusses, composite shingles, laminated/tempered safety glass, & animal caging systems, hvac, plumbing, power and lighting. Alternate #1 includes (2) 400sf habitat yards, steel tube frames and woven stainless steel animal containment mesh walls and galvanized welded mesh roof panels. All work under a single contract. BIDDING REQUIREMENTS All bidders are required to comply with the provisions of P.A. No. 100-1177, No. 1117-07 (Responsible Bidders Ordinance), No. 1118-07 (Project Labor Agreement) and No. 1161-08 (Substance Abuse Policy). CONTRACT DOCUMENTS Until bids have been opened, plans and specifications shall be on file in the office of the Springfield Park District, 2500 South 11th Street, subject to the inspection of all parties desiring to bid. The Board of Trustees of the Springfield Park District reserves the right to waive any irregularities in the bids, reject any or all bids and to accept any bid deemed most advantageous to the district. BID STIPULATION Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked Henson Robinson Zoo Langur & Lemur Habitats. An accompanying bid bond shall be equal to 10% of the total bid price. This may be in the form of a Certified Check, Bank Draft, or Bid Bond payable to the Owner. Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor to all laborers, workmen, mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full amount of the bid accepted. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities and minor irregularities in bidding, and to award a Contract for any part of the Work or the Project as a whole. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Public Museum Capital Grants Program: Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois State Museum.
