The project is located at Cone Park and Sertoma Park and includes construction of new shareduse trails, highly bike optimized bike only trails and mountain bike amenities. The Cone Park site will be located adjacent to the Cone Park Lodge and will provide trailhead access to approximately 10.5 miles of new, sustainably constructed singletrack shared use, and bike only trails, including an intermediate skills trail with prefabricated and natural skill features. The Sertoma Park site will also provide access to the new singletrack trail network and will include an unpaved Beginners Skill Development Track with prefabricated trail features, located near the existing playground. This project's trails and features will provide difficulty levels from beginner to expert and some segments will include technical rock trail tread and features. The bid alternate for this project is located at the Sertoma Park site and includes a progressive jump lines zone consisting of small to large jumps/landings with natural and prefabricated wood kicker ramps Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed by May 15, 2024.
