Site work for a water / sewer project in Penticton, British Columbia. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Ellis #2 Dam upgrades. The Ellis #2 Dam is situated at the head of the South Ellis Creek, approximately 17 km from Penticton. The earthfill embankment dam is used by the City of Penticton to supply and control water for the Ellis Irrigation System. It is approximately 5m in maximum height, about 200m in length and holds back approximately 365 A.ft (450,000 m3) of water in a reservoir, which is drained annually in the fall. The dam empties into South Ellis Creek, which flows into Ellis Creek and continues downstream to the Ellis Creek Diversion Dam. TIMELINE: Design is ongoing. This RFP will be phased over 3 years to include a review of the engineering work done to date, a study of the potential liquefaction concerns, a study to determine a cost effective solution to address the dams existing inability to pass the design flood, preliminary design and cost estimate of the proposed solution, environmental work, permitting and Ministry approvals, development of construction documents and ultimately construction management. Further update late fall 2024, upon budget approvals.
