Renovation of an educational facility in Ewing, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project will be bid as a Single Lump Sum. No bidder may submit more than one bid. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975 c. 127 (N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 - Affirmative Action); the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.; N.J.S.A. 52:25- 24.2, "Statement of Ownership Disclosure"; the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq.); the New Jersey Business Registration of Public Contractors provisions (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44); Executive Order 117 and P.L. 2005 Chapter 51 (N.J.S.A. 19:44a-1 et seq.) and all amendments thereto. A bid bond is required in the amount of 10% of the total bid. Bid bond shall consist of a certified check or cashiers check to the order of The College of New Jersey, or an individual or annual bid bond issued by an insurance company or surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. The successful Bidder(s) is required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract. A Surety Disclosure Statement and Certification form must accompany the performance bond. The College will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder who satisfies the qualification criteria as set forth in the contract documents. The College of New Jersey reserves the right to reject all bids or to waive any minor informalities in the bidding in accordance with law. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of The College of New Jersey. General Work Description: remove all animals from the EIFS system prior to patching all holes in the EIFS; remove and re-caulk all joints in the existing EIFS system Scope: Remove via an exterminator all animals currently living with in the EIFS system. Patch all holes in the EIFS system with approved Dryvit system. Repair all damaged EIFS at the loading dock walls, including corners etc. Visit the site to verify extent of repair work. Match existing profiles and colors. Remove all existing caulk joints within the EIFS system for the entire building and replace with new backer rod and caulk. Remove the caulk, backer rod and replace with new backer rod and caulk. Specifications: 1. See attached caulk and Dryvit specifications. 2. There are approximately 40 holes in the existing exterior, contractor to verify the quantity in the field prior to bidding. 3. EIFS color is to match the existing as close as possible. 4. Caulk color is to be selected from manufacturer standard colors. 5. Caulk installation to follow manufacturers recommended installation instructions, clean and dry surfaces prior to applying the caulk etc. 6. Bollard installation: (4) 6" steel bollards filled solid with 3000# concrete. 36" into ground, 48" out of ground, along the wall at the mailroom loading dock. Patch the asphalt once installed, and paint them with yellow caution paint.
