Request for Qualifications The City of Brentwood is seeking Statements of Qualifications for Architectural Services for the John P. Holt Brentwood Library. Questions concerning the Request for Qualifications should be addressed to Susan Earl at 8109 Concord Road, Brentwood, TN 37024-0788, (615) 371-0090 Ext: 8010, or may be sent by e-mail to susan.earl@brentwoodtn.gov with Architectural Services for Brentwood Library in the subject line. The City of Brentwood reserves the right to reject any and/or all Statements or waive any irregularities or informalities in a Statement, and to accept any Statement, which, in its opinion, may be for the best interest of the City. The effort to improve the John P. Holt Brentwood Library outlined in this document is one of six inter-related projects that the Library is pursuing. Together, the intent of these efforts is to transform the John P. Holt Brentwood Library, breathing new civic life into these spaces and reorganizing them around the needs and interests of the residents in the community. After contracting with Margaret Sullivan Studios, LLC. to explore the possibilities of change within the footprint of the building and adding a small exterior extension of the Reading Terrace, the specifications for the scope of work were created and approved by the Library Board and the City Commission. The concepts of each six spaces planned can be accessed for a clearer picture of the final project. Six spaces include: Gathering Room (a space that welcomes interaction and dialogue, where circulating collections and honor collections can be browsed and taken home or used in-house, where history of the City is illustrated by the purpose of the Vance Little Table and chairs, where a welcoming gathering place for programs as well as conversation is located); Media Room (transformed into two very unique rooms--one a quiet reading room to peruse the magazine/newspaper collections and to exist in thoughtful solitude/one a learning lab for programs and for individual learning); Great Hall (transformed into separate spaces that coincide with each collection, display, and activity that focuses upon the mission and values of the Library in relation to the community); Learning Lab/Study Rooms (transformed into additional spaces that house study rooms, staff creative workspaces, and a dedicated space for the volunteers to gather and feel valued); Teen Space (supporting the requests for a separate space for teens to study, to interact with each other, and to gather with current and future friends); Brentwood Room (transformed into an interactive space for historical and local programs and collection preservation, to activate the love of Brentwood history).
