Demolition, site work and new construction of a laboratory facility in Lead, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the demolition of a laboratory facility; for the construction of a laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.
The South Dakota Science and Technology Authority (SDSTA) is seeking construction proposals for building replacement at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) located in Lead, South Dakota. Upon award of contract, a final building design will be submitted to and approved by the SDSTA. The canvas cover will be removed, and the steel arch frame disassembled. The components from the existing structure will be moved to designated area nearby for disposal by SDSTA. A new pre-engineered building that meets applicable City of Lead Building codes will be supplied and installed on the existing concrete pad if possible. General desired building specifications are as follows: o Size: 40' x 55' o Sidewall height: No less than 14' o Building envelope covered with corrugated steel (minimum 26 ga) o Building frame: Wood or steel o Appropriate snow load capability for Lead, South Dakota o Included doors: (1) 10' x 10' rollup door (manual actuation) in gable end; (2) standard walk doors o Included windows: (6) 36" x 36" windows o Insulation: Moisture resistant on walls and roof with R-value of at least R-10 Questions Due - May 23, 2022 Questions and Answers Posted - May 25, 2022
