R.S. 37:2163.A, a Contractors License Number in the appropriate classification(s) such as Building Construction and/or Electrical and/or Installation on Equipment, Machinery, and Engines must appear on the bid opening envelope on all projects in the amount of $10,000.00 or more (and $1.00 or more if hazardous materials are involved). Failure to do so will remove the bid from consideration. In accordance with La. R.S. 37.2163, anyone objecting to the above classification(s) must send a certified letter to both the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors and the Office of State Procurement. The letter must be received no later than ten (10) working days prior to the day on which the bid is to be opened For any bid submitted in the amount of $50,000 or more, a bid security (insurance company, bank money order, certified check, or cashiers check) must be included with the bidders submission in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including base bid and additive alternates, if any) and shall become the property of the agency in the event the contract and bond are not executed within the time set forth in the bid solicitation. Failure to do so will remove the bid from consideration.
