The Project is for the loading, hauling and land application of approximately 3,500 cubic yards per year of dried, anaerobically digested biosolids from the Salt Creek Sanitary District wastewater treatment plant. Biosolids shall be removed every three months and applied to agronomic or other suitable types of land in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations and any local, state or federal permits issued to the District for such activities. All work shall be completed in accordance with Contract Documents and Specifications Dried biosolids are primarily organic solids that have been removed during the wastewater treatment process. The biosolids are anaerobically digested, and are approximately 16% to 19% solids. Salt Creek Sanitary District typically dries about 95% of its biosolids using a belt filter pressto remove water. Salt Creek Sanitary District has an IEPA permit to land apply biosolids on farmland. Salt Creek Sanitary District analyzes its dried biosolids on a quarterly basis. During the five-year period between 2017 and 2021, Salt Creek Sanitary District land applied approximately 3,500 cubic yards per year of biosolids. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a loader, operator and trucks with a maximum trailer length of thirty (30) feet when removing biosolids from Salt Creek Sanitary District. The Contractor will provide 24 hour notice prior to dropping off the equipment. All deliveries and sludge removal shall be through the south gate. No staging of trucks is allowed along Route 83.
