Proponents shall be the manufacturer of the playground equipment being proposed or an established business partner of the Manufacturer. Proposals shall include one design option for each park, which shall serve the two (2) year to five (5) year age group and the five (5) year age group to twelve (12) year age group that best suits the Town of Whitby's requirements. Proponents are requested to ensure their proposal submission will provide maximum user interaction and play value. Greenfield Park: Location: 72 Greenfield Crescent, Whitby, ON. Background: Greenfield Park is an existing older park in an existing residential neighborhood. The Park is located behind residential homes hidden from street views and surrounded by large mature trees. This Proposal is to cover the design, supply and installation of new playground equipment in the proposed play area footprint as shown on drawing L-1 (please refer to Section 5 - Attachments). A separate tender will be issued for all associated site work including but not limited to removal of existing surfacing and play equipment and the supply of engineered wood fibre, concrete curbs and asphalt walkways. Surfacing type: Engineered wood fibre. Design inspiration: Nature theme/nature inspired play. Structure must include nature inspired colors and components resembling rocks, trees, logs etc. Allocated Budget: $60,000.00 Total Phillips-Kozaroff Park: Location: 25 Park Road, Whitby, ON. Background: Phillips-Kozaroff Park is an existing older park in a small secluded residential neighborhood in Whitby. The park is located adjacent to residential homes and has two road frontages with numerous large mature trees. Its close proximity to Heber Down Conservation area lends itself towards being a quiet peaceful setting for the local residents to enjoy. A large picnic shelter and a small scale basketball court are two features of the park that allow small gatherings to make use of the green space. This request for proposal is to cover the design, supply and installation of new playground equipment in the proposed play area footprint as shown on drawing L-2.
