The Project site is located in the Canal in the City of San Leandro in Alameda County (Att. A, Figs. 1 and 2 ) (Lat. 37.691195; Long. -122.143445). The District owns and maintains the Canal (also identified as Zone 2 Line A). Much of the existing channel is concrete-lined, with either inclined or vertical concrete channel walls. The Project is just downstream (south) of the culvert under Manor Boulevard. The Canal flows from north to south at the Project Site. The work to be done consists, in general, of providing and implementing water pollution control plan and construction site management; providing traffic control and construction area signs; providing and implementing de-watering system; providing excavation shoring protection; removing sediment in channel; removing and salvaging water filled barriers; removing and salvaging 1/4 ton rocks; removing fallen concrete channel wall; construction of reinforced concrete wall and foundation footing; furnishing, placing and compacting wall backfill; reconstruct concrete pathway; and all miscellaneous work necessary to complete said project.
