For Rio Grande Care Road Storm-Water Project A BIDDERS BOND from a reliable surety company licensed to operate in the State of Texas or Certified Cashiers Check, payable without recourse to the County of Hidalgo, for the amount of not less than 5% of the total proposal shall accompany the submittal as a guaranty that, if awarded the contract, the Vendor will enter into a contract with the County of Hidalgo. Payment and Performance Bonds shall be executed except in the event of a single payment contract with the County of Hidalgo in lieu of Performance Bond. In the event the total amount proposed is $25,000 or less, the successful vendor has the option to enter into a single payment contract with the County of Hidalgo in lieu of a Payment and Performance Bond. No less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful offeror must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin (if applicable). HIDALGO COUNTY reserves the right to refuse and reject any/all bids and to waive any/all formalities or technicalities, or to accept the bid considered the best and most advantageous to the County.
