The Corporation of the Township of Langley (the "Township") is seeking Request for Statements of Qualifications (the "RSOQ") for the 264 Street Shallow Landslide Barrier. All interested parties (each, a "Respondent") are invited to submit a response and are required to demonstrate experience and knowledge specific to landslide barrier installation on steep slopes. The 264 Street Shallow Landslide Barrier project will consist of installing a proprietary shallow landslide barrier on a steep slope located at the 7900 block of 264 Street. In November 2021, the lower mainland experienced record rainfall events that adversely impacted land, infrastructure, and buildings. During these rainfall events, the steep slope on the west side of the road along the property located at 7887 264 Street gave way and a landslide occurred covering the road and impacting the movement of people and goods. 264 Street was closed to traffic, a temporary landslide barrier was erected, and portions of the slope were remediated with shotcrete. The contractor will be required to install a Geobrugg Shallow Landslide Barrier approximately 65.0 meters in length and 2.0 meters in height. The contractor will need to access the slope from the roadway and may need access from the top of the slope which is private property. Restoration of the slope where contractor damage may have occurred will be required as well as subsequent cleanup within the Township’s right-of-way.
