Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gardner, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of Gardner is requesting a RFQ for Center Street Improvement Project: Construction Engineering and Testing. The Work includes: Construction of new sidewalk on the west side of Center Street from Shawnee to McKinley and widening of the sidewalk on the Center Street bridge over the BNSF. The project includes construction of new sidewalk on the west side of Center Street from Shawnee to McKinley and widening of the sidewalk on the Center Street bridge over the BNSF. The design will include ADA compliance and pavement marking as needed. The project is being funded in part through the KDOT and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Construction is expected to begin Fall of 2022 and last approximately three months. The City of Gardner is requesting qualifications for the purpose of providing construction oversight services. Firms must be KDOT certified to be considered. The final scope of services shall be agreed upon during the contract negotiations. The submittal should be organized in a manner that will convey pertinent information. The proposal should be formatted in the order shown below. Please submit 3 hard copies for review and an electronic copy. Letter of Transmittal Proposal (5 pages max, single sided) Firm Capabilities Project Team Similar Project Experience Proposals will be reviewed and rated by staff based on overall responsiveness to the RFQ. The City will invite the highest ranked firm to assist in defining the scope of services required and to submit a fee based on that scope. If agreement on scope and fee cannot be reached, the City will then negotiate with the second highest ranked firm. Any proposal received after the designated closing time will be returned unopened. No oral, telegraphic, facsimile or telephonic RFQs or RFQ alterations or corrections will be considered. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Proposals and to waive any technicalities or irregularities therein. Proposals may only be withdrawn or corrected pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 75-6902, as amended, et seq. Proposals may be modified or withdrawn by written request, if such requests are received in the office of the City Clerk, prior to the time and date for RFQ opening. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
