Renovation of a hospitality development in North Waltham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a hospitality development.

The City of Waltham, Massachusetts invites sealed bids from Contractors for the EXTERIOR HISTORICAL RENOVATION CARDINAL COTTAGE at 282 Trapelo Road Waltham, MA 02452. The work consists of the Historical Renovation of the Cottage. For a more complete description of the project go to the technical specification sections. Each general bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the City of Waltham in the amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. Bids shall be made on the basis of the Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, Pursuant to the Provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive of Massachusetts General Laws, a copy of which is found in the City portal. Bidders' selection procedures and contract award shall be in conformity with the rules of Commonwealth of Massachusetts statute Chapter 149 and must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAMM) in the following category of work: Historic Building Renovation. Last day for written questions is at Thursday June 9th, 2022 at 12:00pm, NOON. Questions are to be sent via e-mail only to cphilpott@city.waltham.ma.us Each general bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the City of Waltham in the amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all general bids, if it be in the public interest to do so, and to reject any sub-bid on any sub-trade if it determines that such sub-bid does not represent the sub-bid of a person competent to perform the work as specified or that less than three such sub-bids were received and that the prices are not reasonable for acceptance without further competition. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance, naming the City of Waltham as an Additional Named Insured with a waiver of subrogation, for General Liability and Vehicle Liability in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 in the aggregate and Worker's Compensation Insurance as prescribed by law. In accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts the undersigned certifies that all employees to be employed at the worksite will have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA that is at least 10 hours in duration at the time the employee begins work and shall furnish documentation of successful completion of said course with the first certified payroll report for each employee. All contract made by any department, board or commission where the amount involved is two thousand dollars ($2,000) or more shall be in writing, and no such contract shall be deemed to have been made or executed until the approval of the Mayor is affixed thereto. Any construction contract shall, and all other contracts may, where the contract exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) be required to be accompanied by a bond with sureties satisfactory to the Mayor.
