Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Kendallville, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The estimated project cost was $883,909.50. Bids will be evaluated and it is estimated a tentative award of contract will be made at a special Board of Public Works and Safety meeting at 8:30 am on Friday, June 3, 2022. The scope of the project consists of the installation of the approximate quantities of the following materials: 4,275 Lineal feet of concrete curb 3,730 Tons of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Pavement 3,800 Square feet of concrete sidewalk, approaches & ADA ramp repl. 24,480 Square Yards of Asphalt Milling The work to be performed and the proposals to be submitted, included any and all separate and combination proposals, shall include sufficient and proper sums for all General, Construction, Installation, Labor, Materials, Tools, Equipment, Taxes (both Federal and State), Permits, LicenNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Plan Commission of the City of Kendallville, Indiana, at 7:00 PM, on the 6th day of June, 2022 in Council Chambers, City Hall, 234 S. Main Street, in Kendallville, Indiana, to consider a preliminary plat for a proposed Subdivision in the jurisdictional limits of the City of Kendallville, Docket Number SD-2-22. The proposed subdivision involves a tract of land owned by (print or type): C&M Investments, Inc and is zoned C-2A, General Commercial, for the following described real estate located in Noble County, Indiana, to wit (indicate if legal description is attached): Commencing at the Southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 30, thence South 89 degrees 44 minutes 42 seconds East (Indiana State Plane East Zone Grid Bearings) along the South line of said Quarter Section a distance of 130.68 feet to the Southerly extension of the West line of said Instrument Number 000500460; thence North 00 degrees 42 minutes 09 seconds West along said Southerly extension and West line a distance of 301.49 feet to the Northwest corner of said Instrument Number 000500460; thence South 89 degrees 44 minutes 42 seconds East along the North line of said Instrument Number 000500460 a distance of 910.83 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing South 89 degrees 44 minutes 42 seconds East along said North line a distance of 115.00 feet to the Northwest corner of the lands conveyed to the City of Kendallville Indiana in Instrument Number 040400609 in said Recorder's office; thence along the West line of said Instrument Number 040400609 being the West right-of-way of Sawyer ses, Insurance, Service Costs, and so forth, incident to and required for the construction of the facilities. All materials furnished and labor performed incident to and required for the proper and satisfactory execution of the contracts shall be furnished and performed in accordance with the requirements of the contract documents as defined in the General Conditions of the Construction Contract, and any addenda thereto, prepared by the Owner. Plans and specifications for the work are on file in the Office of the Owner, the City of Kendallville, 234 South Main Street, Kendallville, IN 46755. Copies of the Plans and Specifications may be reviewed in the City Engineering Department, City Hall Building, 234 S. Main Street, Kendallville, between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM, local prevailing time, Monday through Friday.The Bid Form and Form No. 96 furnished to Bidders shall be properly and completely executed and must be accompanied with an executed non-collusion affidavit including financial and qualification statement and a Bid Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bidder's Bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate proposal, which check or bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the Bidder will, if awarded a contract or contracts, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification from him to do so within fifteen (15) days of said notification. All said items are to be submitted electronically through the bid portal. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without consent of the Owner for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time of receiving the bids. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder within thirty (30) days following bid opening, or all bids will be rejected. The funding for this contract will be through state and local funds. The Contractor awarded the work will be required to furnish an acceptable Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of One Hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and Certificate of Insurance within fifteen (15) days of notification that he is the successful bidder. The bond must be in full force and effect for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of written acceptance of and final payment for the work. Failure to execute a contract and to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond as set out will be cause for forfeiture to the Owner of the amount of money represented by the Certified Check or Bidder's Bond, as and for liquidated damages. The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding, to award certain portions of the work or to make such combinations of bids as may seem desirable.
