Thousand Springs Visitor Center and Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument will open to the public in April 2022. The 3,400 square foot Visitor Center located in Hagerman, Idaho will house the administrative offices for both Idaho State Parks and the National Park Service. The two entities will jointly manage the building to provide information and interpretive services to the public about the Thousand Springs State Park system and the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument. The project area includes approximately 1,670 square feet of the Visitor Center's interior space and approximately 400 square feet of outdoor area. Specifically, the Design-Builder shall analyze, design, and install interpretive displays in the following areas: Entrance/Orientation 270 square feet, Reception/Lobby 780 square feet, Interpretive Exhibit Room 620 square feet, Outdoor Exhibit Areas 400 square feet including building approach/entrance, rear covered patio, rear walk area. The scope of work includes a Design-Build package for interpretive design, built-in exhibits, cabinetry, fossil specimen mounting, murals, statues, exterior kiosks, audio description, and associated elements for the Idaho Deptartment of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) and National Park Service (NPS) for Thousand Springs Visitor Center / Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument in Hagerman, Idaho. This shall include a review and analysis ofprevious interpretive planning and design work completed by Formations as a starting point for the design.
