The Corporation of the City of London (the City) is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQUAL) to solicit responses from interested, qualified, Plumbing and/or Drainage Contractors (Respondents) who are capable of undertaking the drainage and plumbing work on selected City of London projects that involve residential plumbing/drainage modifications as noted in the RFQUAL documents. The scope of work for residential plumbing modifications includes the following: 1. Locating, and disconnecting the weeping tiles from the sanitary building sewer. Some homes may have internal weeping tile connections, while other homes have external (outside the home) weeping tile connections. The existing weeping tile trap is to be removed. 2. Install new sump pit and pump and discharge piping to new storm lateral (building sewer) or to the ground surface, and re-route weeping tiles to new sump pit and pump. 3. Install a sump pump battery back-up system. 4. Install an approved backwater valve in accordance with the Ontario Building Code. 5. Install new storm laterals (storm PDC and/or storm building sewer). 6. All concrete floor removal and replacement required to complete the work. Please note that all work must comply with all applicable codes and standards (including but not limited to the Ontario Building Code), and must pass all required inspections conducted in order to be considered satisfactory and complete. 7. Ensuring all appropriate permits are in place prior to starting any work. For targeted street projects, it is expected that between 15 - 40 properties along a street would be included in the contract. The pre-qualified contractor would be retained for the above scope of work (as a minimum). By making a submission to this RFQUAL, the plumbing/drainage contractor is not required to submit bids for these future City contracts.
