For Work to be generally constructed under applicable provisions of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted January 1, 2022 and the Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois, 8th Edition, dated 2020. . 2. Description of Work: The proposed work is officially known as the "CITY OF MARSEILLES, BLUFF STREET SANITARY SEWER REPAIR PROJECT" and is further described as follows:
The project consists of lining about 1,790 feet of 10-inch diameter sanitary sewer on Bluff Street (U.S. Route 6) from mid-block between Pearl Street and Chicago Street to Sherman Street. Part of this relining is located under the bridge that carries Bluff Street over Gum Creek. The work also includes relining thirty-three (33) 6-inch sanitary sewer services from the mainline sewer to a point about five (5) feet behind the existing curb. A cleanout is to be installed at each location where the lining terminates and joins the existing sewer service lines. Contract Documents including Construction Drawings and Special Provisions may be examined at the Office of the City Clerk or at the office of Etscheid, Duttlinger & Associates, Inc., Instructions to Bidders: If an acceptable bid is received from a responsible, responsive Bidder, the City of Marseilles will award the Contract at their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. If an acceptable bid is not received, the Marseilles City Council will reject all bids at the June 15, 2022 meeting. The City of Marseilles encourages minority business firms to submit Bids and the successful contract Bidder to use minority businesses as Subcontractors for suppliers, equipment, services and construction. (d) (e) Not less than the prevailing minimum rate of wages as found by the Department of Labor or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing Work under this Contract. The Contractor shall conform to the requirements of a "Responsible Bidder" as defined by City of Marseilles No. 922. All Contractors and Subcontractors must register ($100.00 fee) annually to work in the City of Marseilles. Rejection of Bids: The City of Marseilles reserves the right to waive technicalities or to reject any or all Proposals.
