Site work for a water / sewer project in Monroe, North Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

INTRODUCTION: Union County Public Schools is seeking Qualification Responses from skilled, experienced Geothermal Test Well Firms. It is the intent of Union County Public Schools to select firm(s), as a result of this RFQ, that are currently licensed in the State of North Carolina to perform services more detailed in the Scope of Work. II. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Provide (1) - 400 ft test bores at the site, delineating what materials are encountered (i.e., voids, water & flow, rock, limestone, etc.). The specific test bore location will be determined prior to the work. A map and directions will be provided when required. 2. Install 1-1/4" SDR-9 polyethylene piping loop rated for 200 psi piping in the test bore. The entire bore hole annulus (6" or greater) shall be grouted with a thermally enhanced grout mixture with a thermal conductivity of 1.00 BTU/hr-ft-F or greater. Contractor shall provide any and all casings as required to drill the test well. 3. The installation shall comply with the recommendations of IGSHPA (International Ground Source Heat Pump Association). The loop installer/contractor shall have a current IGSHPA certification, having completed an IGSHPA training course in the fundamentals of design, installation, and operation of ground source systems, and having passed the IGSHPA certification examination. These test bores shall be installed by a certified water well driller to ensure no encountered aqua forms are compromised. Local and state laws, ordinances, and regulations as they pertain to buried pipe systems shall be strictly followed. 4. Perform a thermal conductivity test on the installed well. Please provide a cost breakout showing cost of test well, the added cost of thermal conductivity test, and total cost with both options. Testing shall begin 1 week after grouting is complete to allow the well to return to steady state conditions. The conductivity test shall provide data over a minimum period of 48 hours. 5. The test well location is in a wooded area on the existing site; the drilling contractor will be responsible for slurry and dust control and clean-up. A plan showing approximate dimensions and test well location is provided. Dimensions are referenced from the existing baseball field pole light. 6. Test bore will be used for the future project. Provide a survey indicating the bore location. If the test bore location is not as directed, the well will be relocated at the contractor's expense. 7. Provide a typed report of the driller's log and thermal conductivity test report. 8. Pending owner approval, indicate earliest starting date on your proposal and estimate total time of completion.
