XL Construction has been awarded the UC Berkeley Bechtel Engineering Center project, a student services building, to renovate the existing two-story cast-in-place concrete building and add a two-story addition on top. The addition will be approximately 36,000sf and the renovation approximately 15,000sf. The buildout will include offices, meeting and assembly spaces, lounges, classrooms, a cafe, and roof terraces. Preconstruction: August 2022 - May 2023 Construction: Summer 2023 - December 2024 This project is seeking either LEED Silver or Gold XL is seeking design-build mechanical and electrical subcontractors who are interested in joining the project team. All Subcontractors wishing to bid on these design-build scopes must first prequalify in order to submit a best-value proposal. The design-build MEP procurement will include two parts - Part A: Prequalification and Part B: Best-Value Proposal. If Trades do not submit Part A and/or do not prequalify, you will not be invited to Part B.
