Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Peoria, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
The proposed improvement consists of reconstructing PCC sidewalk and PCC driveways on public right of way and all necessary adjustments, incidentals and appurtenances at locations shown in the plans. Other work may include, but not be limited to, traffic control, step removal, and retaining wall removal. Site restoration shall include topsoil placement, sodding, seeding, fertilizing, and mulching at locations as directed by the City. Necessary adjustments, incidentals and appurtenant items shall be constructed as directed by the City. All provisions regarding EEO, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and DBE and WBE requirements shall be strictly enforced. All work shall be in compliance with specifications and all state and federal laws and regulations. All proposals must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier's check, or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Within 24 hours after the letting, the two low bidders must file an "Affidavit of Availability" Form BC 57 in triplicate. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond for the full amount of the contract, with sureties, to be approved by the City Engineer. Compliance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act is required under this contract. The City of Peoria reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.
