Saving Project...

Site work for a civil project in Centralia, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Removing existing shotcrete, excavation, drainage, LLDPE liner installation, fiber-reinforced shotcrete and associated work in accordance the project plans and specifications. The City of Centralia hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. The City of Centralia encourages contracting procedures that provide M/WBEs equal opportunity to participate as subcontractor on City contracts. All bids must be submitted on the forms furnished for that purpose, and each proposal must be accompanied by cash, bid bond, or certified check made payable to the City of Centralia, in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the total bid. Questions regarding the bid documents should be submitted through the question portion of the website and all responses to the questions will be on the website. The City provides reasonable accommodations to persons with disabilities. We invite any person with special needs to contact the City Light Department at 360-330-7512 at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to the Bid opening to discuss any special accommodations that may be necessary. The City of Centralia reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive irregularities in the bid or bidding. The project consists of excavating typically 1 to 2 feet into the inboard slopes and canal bottom, and placement of filter modified crushed surfacing base course under the liner for regrading of the slope and canal bottom and improving the drainage under the liner. A textured 30-mil LLDPE geomembrane will be installed from the crest of the right embankment to the crest of the left embankment. A cushion geotextile will be placed under the geomembrane to reduce the risk of installation damage to the geomembrane. The geomembrane and cushion geotextile will be secured in anchor trenches at the crest ends of the liner and fused/welded with existing liner at the upstream and downstream ends. It will be covered with fiber-reinforced shotcrete on the inboard slopes and canal bottom. Additional details of the proposed construction are described in the Zone 18 Shotcrete Liner Repair report. The Liner Installer's Quality Control Plan specific to the geomembrane and geotextile installation is presented in Appendix G for additional detail regarding liner installation and quality control requirements.
