Bids for this Contract shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid. All Bids shall be effective for sixty (60) calendar days. The Work must be complete and in place by September 16, 2022. The Work generally consists of furnishing all equipment and labor for but not necessarily limited to the following: 90lb Leveling Course (2,160 SY - 2 Locations), 9.5MM overlay (4,865 SY - 7 locations), incidental milling and sealing. The full scope of work and the locations are further identified in the project documents. a. The entire roadway must be power broomed by the Contractor prior to start of the overlay project. Excess construction materials and debris are to be removed by the Contractor unless otherwise noted. b. Tack coat shall be applied as required per Section 460 of PennDOT Publication 408 and is incidental to paving. c. Leveling course shall be placed to achieve desired drainage patterns (i.e. cross-slope, center crown, removal of reverse crown, etc.) as directed by municipality utilizing the bid quantities as indicated. d. All bituminous material shall be mixed, transported, placed, compacted and tested in accordance Pennsylvania Department of Transportation specifications and standards. e. Paving placement depth variations pursuant to site conditions or as indicated by c. above is incidental to paving. The municipality, through the CoStars contract, will purchase all bituminous materials. The contractor is responsible to haul all bituminous materials from the Pottsville Materials asphalt plant located in Darkwater. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond, and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. All work must conform to the most recent edition of PennDOT Publication 408 unless otherwise specified. The East Norwegian Township Supervisors reserve the right to reject any or all Bids or portions thereof, and to accept any Bid, or portion of Bid, which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Township. East Norwegian Township and their representatives are not responsible for bids mailed but not received. All bids shall be sealed, marked and addressed as indicated in the contract documents
