As of Aug 2 the project is awarded to Judd Buick Construction Inc for $774,732.50. The work, in general, to be conducted under this contract include storm-proofing approximately 4.4 miles of road along the Upper Park Road in Bidwell Park in Chico CA. The work includes improvements to 43 erosion site features, such as stream crossing culvert installations/replacements and construction of armor fills, and road surface drainage treatments, such as rolling dips, ditch relief culvert installation, and road surface outsloping, on approximately 3.4 miles of the 4.4 miles. The targeted outcome of the project is to properly upgrade the stream crossing and road surface for peak storm runoff (Q100) and thus reduce erosion and sediment from entering Big Chico Creek, and to provide a sustainable forest type road for public and emergency access.The Project has fifty (50) Working Days.The Engineer's Estimate for this Contract is $583,000 At the time the City awards the contract for this project, the Contractor shall possess a Class A, or C12 Contractor License or a combination of classes required by the categories, items, and types of work included in the Design Plans for Construction and this contract. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990.This project requires the payment of prevailing wage rates to be paid to members of each craft or classification performing work on this project. All questions and requests for information regarding the project must be submitted through electronically. No bid will be considered unless it is made on the bid form included in the project Bid Book furnished by the Public Works Department, obtained through Public Purchase on-line bidding service. Bids are required for the entire work described herein.Each bid must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer made payable to the City of Chico for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount. Such guaranty maybe forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fails to enter into the contract.Bidder's attendance at this meeting is mandatory. All prospective contractors or their representative are required to attend the walk through in order to bid on this project. Failure to attend shall result in your bid not being accepted. If postponed due to bad weather a new date will be determined (TBD). The Department will not accept a bid from a bidder who did not attend the meeting.
