Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Abingdon, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This section shall govern for furnishing, installing, grouting and providing all labor, material and equipment necessary to rehabilitate existing culvert pipe by slip-lining with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. From the preliminary measurements made by the Engineer it is anticipated the pipe size for the slip-lining will be of varying sizes (36, 42, and 48-inch). However, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to perform field measurements to appropriately size the pipe for the slip-lining. The slip-lining process will require the installer to completely grout the annular space between the host and inserted liner pipe. The Contractor shall be responsible to furnish, install, operate, maintain and remove all work zone traffic control associated with the Project, including detours, advance warnings, channelization, hazard warnings and any other necessary features, both at the immediate work site and as may be necessary at outlying points. The work shall be in accordance with the latest edition of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Town's Public Work Facility, 299 Kings Mountain Drive on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Work Location: Town of Abingdon Virginia, Green Spring Road.
