Site work for an educational facility in Ithaca, New York. Design plans call for site work for a educational facility.

As of May 22, 2024, a design firm has been disclosed. A bid/construction timeline is not yet available. Cornell University is seeking proposals from consultants to provide architectural and engineering services to repair a portion of the facade at Ives Hall East. Cornell University is seeking design services for the facade repairs at Ives Hall East, at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. A study was completed by Cornell Facilities Engineering in 2021 to investigate the existing conditions at the southwest corner and south facade of Ives Hall's east wing due to concerns raised during the 2020 roof replacement project. During the roof construction on the building in summer 2020, deficiencies in the stone masonry were observed including unstable stone which was deemed a life safety hazard. The masonry is temporarily covered with netting, at the recommendation of the Facilities Engineering team. This design effort is to use the findings presented in the Facilities Engineering study and develop bid documents to repair the stone, mitigate water infiltration and replace the low roof after the masonry deficiencies are addressed. The services indicated below shall include, but not be limited to: HazMat survey Structural services Architectural services for design, bid and construction administration Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Participation Pursuant to New York State Executive Law Article 15-A, Cornell University is committed to promoting opportunities for maximum feasible participation of certified MWBE firms and the employment of minority group members and women in the performance of Cornell contracts. Consultants are required to ensure that good faith efforts are made to include meaningful participation. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise (SDVOB) Participation Pursuant to New York State Executive Law Article 17-B, Cornell University is committed to promoting opportunities for maximum feasible participation of certified SDVOB firms and the employment of veterans in the performance of Cornell contracts. Consultants are required to ensure that good faith efforts are made to include meaningful participation MBE, WBE, and SDVOB goals are listed in the New York State Contract Reporter (NYSCR) ad. The consultant shall provide a Subconsultant Staffing List for the project using the form attached to the NYSCR ad. This subconsultant staffing list shall include the percent of work to be completed by each subconsultant and indicate whether each subconsultant is a MBE, WBE, or SDVOB. Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 6.9% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 11.8% The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
