GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON MEDIA Bids are being requested for the periodic replacement of spent Granular Activated Carbon media with new Granular Activated Carbon media for water treatment. The Metropolitan Domestic Water Improvement District (MDWID) is requesting proposals for removal and replacement of spent Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) with new GAC for the District's Calgon Model 12 GAC system. The GAC system is located at 5781 N. Shannon Road, Tucson, Arizona 85741. The work includes the removal and disposal of spent GAC, providing new virgin GAC, and its installation. The GAC system consists of two vertical pressure vessels, each containing 20,000 pounds of GAC. The GAC system is setup in a lead lag configuration. Typically one vessel at a time will require GAC replacement. All pricing and work for this RFP shall be based on one vessel or 20,000 pounds.
