Demolition for a clubhouse / community center in Caldwell, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the demolition of a clubhouse / community center.
The Scope of this Project is for the interior demolition of the Caldwell Community Center in Caldwell, NJ and includes: Community Center Building Interior Demolition Community Center Building Lobby Pitched Roof Community Center Athletic Field House Electrical Demolition Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Demolition Removal and Reuse / Recycle / Disposal of Demolition Debris All bids must be made upon the form of proposal furnished with these specifications and shall state the price in words and in figures of each item of the proposed work as shown on the drawings and contemplated in the contract. The bidder must sign the bid and state herein his business address and place of residence. The bid must be sealed in an envelope endorsed: All bids shall be presented to the Owner by the parties bidding, or their agents, at the place and time designated and none will be accepted thereafter. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the ENGINEER in writing and faxed to the Engineer at 201-635-9404, Replies will be issued by addenda mailed, faxed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the bidding documents. Questions received less than five (5) days prior to date for opening of Bids will not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.. In case of the bidder's failure or neglect to do so, the Borough of Caldwell may, at its option, determine that the bidder has abandoned the contract and thereupon the proposal and acceptance shall become null and void, and the bid security, accompanying the proposal shall be forfeited to the Borough of Caldwell. The contractor will be required to start the project within 7 days of the Borough of Caldwell signing the contract. It is the intent of the Borough of Caldwell not to award the contract to any bidder who does not furnish evidence satisfactory to it, that he is responsible and that he has sufficient capital, ability, experience and equipment to perform all work in conformance with the plans and specifications, and to complete it within the time specified in the contract. The disclosure shall be continued until names and addresses of every non-corporate stockholder and individual partner exceeding the 10% ownership criteria established in the applicable New Jersey public Laws of 1977, Chapter 8, has been listed. Small, Minority and Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to obtain specifications and compete for the contracts. The Contractor's proposal shall hold firm for sixty (60) days. The Borough of Caldwell Council reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any and all bids: waive informalities and make sure awards, or take action as may be in the best interest of the Borough of Caldwell. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written consent of The BOROUGH OF CALDWELL. Mutually agreed upon extensions of time may be made, if necessary, and in accordance with law. Completion- 30 calendar days Interior Partitions a) The Contractor shall be responsible for the demolition and removal of walls and partial partitions as shown on drawings A02, Basement Plan (D-1.0 sh. 2 of 5), and A03 First Floor Plan (D-1.0 sh. 3 of 5). This includes the Center's front desk and the like. b) The Contractor shall also demolish the ceramic/block walls for the locker rooms except for common walls to the pool and gym areas. This will include personnel lockers in each of the locker rooms unless otherwise directed. c) The Contractor shall keep intact the north section of the kitchen area as shown on drawing A03 which will reutilized in the future as part of the development of the area. d) The partial wall next to the stairwell leading to the basement area shall not be demolished and the stairwell shall remain serviceable for use. e) The Contractor shall keep intact the sheetrock wall and associated door located on Basement column line 6. The rollup door and associated pushbutton will motor electrical connection will remain operational. 2. Interior Doors and Frames All doors to the building exterior will not be demolished and left intact and serviceable for use. b) All doors to the interior space for the pool area, and gym areas will not be demolished and left intact and serviceable for use. c) All interior doors not common to other areas will be removed along with their associated frames. d) Any door, interior or exterior, having glass window or panels shall be protected from damage. Suspended Ceilings and grids All ceiling tiles and grid systems are to be taken down as part of the demolition scope including the kitchen and stairwell areas. b) The Contractor shall leave intact any fire suppression piping and sprinkler heads as well as fire detection system devices. c) Contractor will remove and dispose of all light fixtures as indication on drawings E-2 & E-3.
