The project consists of improvements at the intersection of McGaughey-Chapel Road at Old Prater Mill Road. The intersection will be realigned to intersect Old Prater Mill Road with McGaughey Chapel Road at 90 degrees. This project will involve approximately 250 feet of new alignment and abandoning/cul-de-sac-ing where the existing Old Prater Mill Road intersects McGaughey Chapel Road. Minor vegetative clearing on the north side of McGaughey Chapel inside the horizontal curve will be needed. The GDOT Standard Specifications Construction of Transportation Systems, 2021 Edition and applicable supplemental specifications that apply to the construction contract. The successful bidder must have a Performance Bond in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the Bid Price and a Certificate of Insurance including a bid bond of 5% of the Bid Price, not to exceed $25,000.00. From Notice to Proceed (NTP) the allotted construction time will be 60 consecutive calendar days. Payment for the work will be made on a monthly basis and within 15 days of the date in which billing is received. Applications for payment should be submitted on or before the first of each month and will be approved for payment by the OWNER on the basis of work in place The right is reserved by the Owner to delay the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed Ninety (90) days from the date of opening of the bids. The right is also reserved to reject or accept any and all bids in whole or in part and to waive any and all technicalities of informalities. If the contract is awarded it will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder whose proposal shall have meet all the prescribed requirements
