Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and renovation of a mixed-use development in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

This project provides continued funding for enhancements to current parks. The five-year CIP includes: Pole Green Park Community Center. Renovate the Community Center including the façade, ADA ramp, new roof,gutters, HVAC and interior. Restroom facilities. Repurpose existing concession stands and restroom facilities to improved and expanded restroom facilities. Field/park irrigation. Improve irrigation at Pole Green Park (where only 2 of 4 baseball fields are currently irrigated). Address the pump system located in the Courthouse Park irrigation pond. Add irrigation for Poor Farm Park's baseball fields, which are not currently irrigated. Athletic Field Lighting. Replace the outdated lighting system on Pole Green Park multipurpose field #3. Pickleball Courts. Construct additional pickleball courts at the current location of the Pole Green Park horse riding ring. This project is in included in the Hanover County FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
