The Town of Newington will accept bids from experienced Contractors for the Maple Hill Avenue and Robbins Avenue Complete Streets Project. All bids must be submitted in accordance with Town specifications and on forms supplied by the Town. All questions and RFIs (Requests for Interpretation) regarding this bid shall be addressed to Gary Fuerstenberg, Town Engineer in writing, either by fax to 860-665-8572 or e-mail at gfuerstenberg@newingtonct.gov, A bid bond for 5% of the amount bid is required. Within ten calendar days following notice of any award the Contractor shall furnish Performance and Labor and Materials Payment bonds to the Town for the duration of the Contract, covering faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of obligations arising thereunder. Such bonds shall be equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the full amount of the Contract as a guarantee that the terms of the Contract shall be complied with in every particular. A non-collusion affidavit must be completed and submitted with each bid. Any contract or award will be subject to State of Connecticut set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The Town of Newington reserves the right to reject any or all bids. the Contractor shall pay as liquidated damages, one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200) per calendar day to the Town until the work is complete
