Site work for a water / sewer project in Tishomingo, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of May 1, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, information regarding the awarded general contractor has not been confirmed at this time. The work is generally described as follows: replace the existing above ground duplex pumping station on Highway 25. This description is intended to show the general nature of the work; actual work items shall be as defined in the contract documents. Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside "Town of Tishomingo Sewer System Improvements." Any bid more than $50,000 must contain on the outside of the envelope the contractor's current certificate of responsibility number, and no bid shall be opened or considered unless this number appears on the outside of the envelope or unless a statement is included on the outside of the envelope indicating that the bid enclosed does not exceed $50,000. A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft payable to Town of Tishomingo shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. In the letting of public contracts, preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Mississippi public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder's state awards contracts to Mississippi contractors bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors actually domiciled in Mississippi, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the nonresident. When a nonresident contractor submits a bid for a public project, he shall attach thereto a copy of his resident state's current law pertaining to such state's treatment of nonresident contractors. Any bid submitted by a nonresident contractor which does not include the nonresident contractor's current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award. This project is being funded in part by a Community Development Block Grant for Economic Development and is subject to the rules and regulations thereof. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses and Section 3 residents. Minority and women's business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and or supply needs. The Town of Tishomingo is an equal opportunity employer. The Town hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age disability, sexual preference, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status in consideration for an award. This project is subject to the requirements of the Davis-Bacon Act, as amended. The Contractor is required to comply with wage and labor provisions and to pay minimum wages in accordance with the schedule of wage rates established by the United States Department of Labor. The right is reserved, as the Town of Tishomingo may require, to reject any, or all, bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. Bids may be held up to 30 days from the date of opening for review of bids and qualifications of bidders prior to Contract award.
