The City of Salina has engaged Overland Contracting, Inc., (OCI) a wholly owned subsidiary of Black & Veatch Corporation, to develop the design and price for a scope of construction work at the existing Salina Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This scope of work of the improvements project shall include: Reconfiguration of the existing aeration basins, to provide biological nutrient removal capabilities. This includes new concrete walls and baffles, metal access platforms, air diffuser systems and mechanical mixing and pumping equipment. Associated piping, electrical and instrumentation/controls will also be required Provision of a new Final Clarifier, including the excavation and construction of a circular concrete basin, and installation of mechanical clarifier equipment. Associated buried piping and other ancillaries will also be required. Refurbishment of 3 existing clarifiers, extending to the replacement of component parts, repainting the scraper mechanisms and installing launder covers. Refurbishment of 2 Digesters, including the replacement of steel roofs, installation of linear motion mixers, re-coating of tank interior walls, and installation of new ancillary equipment, piping, electrical and instrumentation Construction of a new Boiler Building, a masonry building (approx. 1500 sq.ft.) housing new boilers, electrical and ancillary equipment Installation of chemical feed systems, gas flare, electrical equipment and other minor scope items at the facility. OCI will be issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) packages for the work later on in the summer of 2022.The WWTP Improvements Projects is currently under design up to 90% complete and OCI is now soliciting for interest and qualification packages from interested Subcontractors to preposition and expedite the bidding process when RFP Packages are issued. Prequalification will be required to bid the Project. The RFP packages are tentatively scheduled to be issued late June 2022 with proposals due late July 2022.
