Renovation of an educational facility in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Lake Travis ISD will be accepting proposals for Classroom Audiovisual Systems for Lake Point Elementary GENERAL 1.1. This Section describes the requirements, criteria, and scope of work for AV Contractor/Integrator to install Classroom / Instructional Area Multimedia Audiovisual (AV) Systems into Lake Pointe Elementary School. 1.2. These systems will interface with the existing District-wide systems using the District's LAN/WAN Connectivity System. AV Contractor to provide personnel familiar with data network interface requirements to allow seamless communications between new Classroom & Commons Systems and Core Bells Paging Equipment via the school's data networks. 1.3. The Selected Contractor shall attend a mandatory pre-construction meeting at LTISD Distribution Center with the IT Director and designees to exchange information and agree on general details of schedule, equipment arrangements and installation interfaces for the AV/Bells/Paging/Announcements Project. 1.4. Successful Offeror shall furnish, deliver, erect, and connect all the material and latest generation equipment described herein and, in the drawings, and also provide all other incidental material and tools, software, transportation, etc. required to make the Work complete, in accordance with the intent of these plans and specifications, as required to leave the system in first class operating condition. 1.5. Successful Offeror is responsible for the entire Scope of Work identified in this Section. If Offeror does not have expertise or qualified/certified staff to undertake a portion of the entire Scope of Work, Offeror should engage and be responsible for qualified subcontractor(s) to undertake that portion of the Work. Offerors should not "bid" only a portion of the Work. Partial or Incomplete Offers will not be accepted. 1.6. AV Contractor/Integrator to leave work areas in clean order at the end of each workday by removing trash and generally picking up/sweeping/vacuuming the work area. In areas where student instructional activities are to occur the next day, the room/area is to be completely restored to pre-construction, useable condition with either the new systems up and running or the old systems having been left in active condition for use until the new system is fully functional. Ceiling tiles are to be replaced, furniture restored to original positions and all construction detritus from the Work is to be removed, swept, vacuumed, etc. 1.7. Contractor/Integrator to remove selected old equipment and cabling displaced by the new system installations (e.g. projectors; projector mounts; wall-mounted control systems; old handheld infrared remotes; signal converters and amplifiers; streaming encoders and decoders, unused or obsolete signal and control cables, wires and faceplates; system control panels and related equipment; central equipment; power supplies and attendant relay racks; etc.) and store it locally at an agreed-to location at the school under construction. Periodically, upon notifying the IT Executive Director, the Technical Projects Engineer or designee, AV Contractor/Integrator is to gather up and transport the displaced equipment to the District Operations Center located at 16101 Highway 71 West, Bldg. B, Austin, TX for sorting and storage or disposal in accordance with District Policy and State Law. 1.7.1. Cardboard and Paper trash, cable clippings and such may be disposed of in site-based dumpsters as long as they are not over-filled. If over-filling becomes an issue, AV Contractor is to provide their own dumpster - coordinate placement location with IT Director and Local School Administrator. NOTE 1: Most classrooms and instructional spaces have 2x2 lay-in speakers. These speakers are to be tested to assure they function properly and, if so, left in place and connected with new speaker cables to the wallmounted FrontRow Juno voice lift systems. NOTE 2: Classrooms have a single, round cut-in speaker connected to the 70v overhead paging system. These speakers are to be removed along with their feed cables. Displaced ceiling tiles are to be replaced with new. NOTE 3: The Music Room (Rm. 105) has one pair of 2x2 ceiling speakers in place, but given that the overhead speakers are used for announcements and paging and, in some cases, for emergency messages; AV Contractor/Integrator is to procure, transport and install a second pair of lay-in speakers to better cover the area and provide clear speech intelligibility. To this end, place left & right channel speakers into front and rear quadrants of the room (See Room Layout on Drawing). 1.8. AV Contractor/Integrator to provide and replace all ceiling tiles displaced by their Work as well as tiles that may be damaged during AV Systems installations.
