Renovation of a municipal facility in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Construction of first floor of the Fairfield County Government Complex. Questions may be submitted using the enclosed form or e-mailed to Cathy Washington at cathy.washington@fairfield.sc.gov. There will not be a pre-bid conference The County reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids and to waive any informalities and/or irregularities thereof. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. If you are an interested contractor and wish to be listed as a bidder, please notify our editorial staff at addtobidlist@constructconnect.com. 1) Divide the Sheriff's Office (Floor Plan Room #1-034) to Create 2 offices: Sheriff's Office and Captain's Office a. Construct a sheetrock partition wall of common construction materials (metal or wood studs) 14 ft. 4.5 in. wide by 11 ft. 9 in. tall. i. New wall will interconnect on all 4 sides: floor, ceiling and 2 walls. ii. New wall will be insulated to improve privacy between the 2 offices. iii. New wall will be positioned approximately 11 ft. 1.5 in. from the south wall of the original office to avoid relocation of 1 HVAC vent. b. Construct a doorway from the new Captain's Office to access the Corridor (Floor Plan Room #1-020) via an original Corridor door opening previously closed off. Door still in place as seen from the Corridor. i. Construction of the new Captain's Office doorway will require demolition of an existing closet (28 in. deep by 78.75 in. wide by 11ft. 1.5 in. tall) and a small hallway fixed ceiling box (6.5 ft. wide by 34 in. tall). 1. Closet solid wood door, hardware and metal doorframe should be retained for other use. ii. Original Corridor door and framing must be unsealed, prepped and rehung with matching hardware. iii. Ceiling reconstruction can be drop ceiling tiles as in other areas of the building. The original Corridor door transom window must remain visible after reconstruction. Examples of this construction can be found in other rooms of the building. iv. Sheetrock wall covering the original doorway from with the office must be removed to expose the door. Sheetrock work may be required to reframe the doorway. c. Mechanical / Electrical Facilities Add / Relocation i. Add 4 additional electrical outlets into the new Office partition wall; 2 on each side of wall and 1 communication outlet on the Sheriff's side of the wall. ii. Relocate 1 ceiling sprinkler head. iii. Relocate 2 electrical switches and 2 outlets (120v). Switch control areas will need to be rewired for split office space. iv. Relocate 2 ceiling light bars and 1 ceiling can light. Existing fixtures and other materials can be reused. v. Relocate 1 existing wall HVAC duct. d. Fit and finish both Office's walls, door framing, doors, trim work and prime / paint where required. 2) Create Equipment Security Area within Secured Storage Room (Floor Plan Room # 1-030) a. Purchase and install a heavy metal wire security cage wall (9 ft. 8.5 in. wide by 11 ft. 6 in. tall), with 36 in. metal wire door and locking mechanism. i. Cage to be placed approximately 9.5 ft. to 10 ft. from the west facing wall to avoid the existing ceiling HVAC duct. ii. Remove drop ceiling to allow security cage to be integrated into 2 nd floor structure above. Make alterations as needed to reinstall the drop ceiling iii. Secure cage firmly to the wooden floor and walls. b. Mechanical / Electrical Facilities Add / Relocation: i. Add 1 matching light bar to the front part of the room, outside the caged area. 3) Create a new Inspector Office (Floor Plan Room # 1-022) a. Construct a sheetrock partition wall of common construction materials (metal or wood studs) 13 ft. 8.5 in. wide by 8 ft. 8.25 in. tall. i. New wall will be positioned from the existing hallway doorway to the north-facing wall creating a separate private office space and extending the existing hallway. ii. New wall will interconnect on all 4 sides: floor, ceiling and 2 walls. b. Construct a doorway into new office i. New office doorway will be positioned to the left, just after passing through the existing hall doorway. The existing hallway door should be removed for reuse, the metal door frame can remain in place. ii. Install 36 in. solid wood door, metal door frame and hardware. Materials available for reuse from the new Captain's Office closet demo. c. Mechanical / Electrical Facilities Add / Relocation: i. Relocate 2 electrical switches, positioning them inside the new office space near the door. Switch controls will need to be rewired for proper operation. d. Add 1 electrical outlet (120v) into the new wall on office side. e. Fit and finish walls, door framing, trim work and prime / paint where required 4) Create an Interrogation Room within the Squad Room (Floor Plan Room #1-014) a. Construct a 2-wall sheetrock partition of common construction materials (metal or wood studs) 10 ft. wide by 9 ft. tall and 7 ft. 3.5 in. wide by 9 ft. tall. i. New wall will interconnect on all 4 sides: floor, ceiling and 2 walls. b. Construct a doorway into new office. i. Install 36 in. metal door, metal door frame and hardware ii. Door and hardware available for reuse from Inspector office c. Mechanical / Electrical Facilities Add / Relocation: i. Install 1 additional HVAC duct ii. Relocate 2 can lights into new Interrogation Room. Relocate 1 ceiling bar light fully into Squad Room area. All fixtures can be reused in this space. iii. Install 1 additional electrical switch for Interrogation Room. Squad Room switch controls will need to be rewired for proper operation iv. Add 1 sprinkler head within the Interrogation Room if required. d. Fit and finish walls, door framing, trim work and prime / paint where required. 5) Create Sheriff Reception Customer Interface Window (Floor Plan Room #1-010) a. Install or construct a tempered glass customer service window within the current glass panel reception office wall i. Consider Reception Security in design and materials ii. Include Reception and Customer ledge for document interface iii. Include Voice Projection device in glass partition for speech interface b. Current glass wall measurements i. Aluminum Frame: 1.75 in. wide / Overall width of aluminum frame 4.5 in. ii. Top Glass Panel: 35.5 in. wide by 58 in. tall iii. Bottom Glass Panel: 35.5 in. wide by 10 3/8 in. tall 6) Create a new doorway between Community Development Offices (Floor Plan Rooms #1-131 and #1-133) a. Construct new doorway opening in existing wall. i. Install 36 in. solid wood door, 88 in. metal door frame and hardware (see photos) ii. Door and hardware available for reuse b. Mechanical / Electrical Facilities Add / Relocation: i. Relocate electrical wiring around new door opening if required. c. Fit and finish walls, door framing, trim work and prime / paint where required. 7) Create Waste / Recycle Collection Center a. Construct 25 ft. by 25 ft., 5000 psi concrete pad and approximately 875 sq. ft. 5000 psi concrete driveway ending at the street's edge. b. Construct 25 ft. by 25 ft. x 6 ft. tall white vinyl privacy fence around the concrete pad. i. Install lockable entry gates; 1 single side gate and 1 double front gate ii. Minimal grading required at site 8) Install hand railing at Main Entrances a. All handrails shall be metal and dark bronze in color. Rails will be installed onto existing concrete stairs. b. Administration Main Entrance: 3 rails required at approximately; 14 ft., 12 ft., and 10 ft. in length c. Auditorium Main Entrance: 4 rails required at approximately; 5 ft. (2), 7.5 ft., and 4 ft.
