New Hanover County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide construction services for the Port City United Upfit, located at 320 Chestnut Street, 4 th floor. Work includes an interior office upfit of approximately 5100 sq. ft. and associated plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection system work as outlined in the attached drawings and specifications. Office upfit includes selective demolition, light gauge stud partitions and gypsum wall board, porcelain tile and carpet tile flooring, porcelain tile and resilient wall base, interior painting, acoustic tile ceilings, interior aluminum storefront windows and door frames, flush wood doors, and architectural wood casework with solid surface countertops. Bids will be recorded, evaluated and certified by the Architect. A Bid Bond Equal to 5% of the bid price is required by all bidders. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. No Bid may be withdrawn ninety (90) days after bid opening date. The bidder shall make good faith efforts, as defined in the bid specifications, to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which is in the best interest of the County.
