Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Per Owner, no bids received for this project. They will be using a private company for services. Tack and Patch: (Approximately 1308 sq. Ft.) • Thoroughly clean and tack existing asphalt. • Furnish and install 1.5” compacted thickness hot mix asphalt. • Excavate existing asphalt and haul material off site. • Furnish and install 1” to 2” of crushed aggregate base course, as needed, to maintain existing grades. • Fine grade, water and compact crushed aggregate base course. • Machine pave a total asphalt thickness of 4” constructed in two lifts, with the first lift consisting of paving 2.5” compacted hot mix asphalt using Wl D.O.T. gradation #2 binder course materials, followed by an application of tack coat, and then pave the second lift of 1.5” compacted hot mix asphalt using Wl D.O.T. gradation #4 surface course material. Sealcoat Entire Site: • Two Coat Commercial Sealcoating Procedure • Thoroughly clean the pavement surface of all dirt, debris and vegetation, using truck mounted power sweepers or air blowers. Soil sterilant shall be applied as required. • Prime all petroleum stains with “Petro bond” (acrylic oil spot primer) bonding agent. Areas of excessive oil buildup will be burned, as required. • Major cracks, %” and wider will be filled with W.R. Meadows Hi Spec, ASTM3405 (Hi Spec 3405) Polymeric Joint Sealer. (Crack filling is not a substitution for the repair of “Alligator” or “Spider Web” failure areas.) • Apply two coats of commercial grade asphalt emulsion, (Pave Shield, Armguard, Seal master), that provides a high-performance protective coating for sealing asphalt pavement. Approved silica sand shall be added to the sealer at a rate of 6-7 pounds per gallon to enhance skid resistance and coating durability. • Re-stripe the existing parking lot layout.
