The contract will require that the successful bidder to provide the Town of Acton, Public Infrastructure Improvement Project, Acton Town Center (Historic Town Common, Main Street (Route 27), Newtown Road, Concord Road), Contract #8/31/2022-1057 in accordance with the contract requirements, plans, specifications, bid form and other supporting documents set forth in this invitation. This work shall consist of reconstructing the road, resetting the curbing, building new sidewalks and bike accommodations, pavement markings, signage and relocating the historic horse trough in order to provide a multimodal infrastructure while preserving the historic character of the Town Common. All street approaches, driveways and vegetative shoulders where disturbed shall be replaced conforming to original alignment, grade and materials. Eversource will be relocating one (1) utility pole within the limit of work. The Contractor will need to coordinate their work with Eversource to ensure propose proper precautions are taken while working around the existing utility poles. Public Infrastructure Improvement Project Acton Town Center The Town of Acton, in response to the Corona Virus pandemic, is currently following the guidance from the Acton Board of Health, Mass Dept. of Public Health and the CDC. Bidding procedures are governed by Massachusetts General Laws , as applicable and referenced in G. L. 149. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Highway Construction for the project with an estimated value of $852,301.33 will be required. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the date designated above for the opening of bids. The Contractor must comply with the all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. The Town of Acton reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informalities, as deemed in the Town's best interest.
